Water commission served with notice of violation over Bonsal tree clearing

The North New Jersey District Water Supply Mission, which cleared over 70 trees at Alfonzo F. Bonsal Preserve in July in maintenance of its waterline, has been issued a mark of violation by the Section of Environmental Protection.
The water company, which owns an easement through the place, was issued the notice a Department of Environmental Aegis (DEP) spokesperson confirmed last workweek.
A DEP inspector visited the site on Aug. 9 after receiving threesome reports of the water company clearing trees without a permit and the spraying of herbicides.

Bonsal is home to fresh water wetlands, with the Third River running through IT. Water commission executive director Tim Eustace preserved the tree clearing was done appropriately and only where necessary in orderliness to protect the water logical argument.
"I commend the issuance of a Placard of Violation from unauthorized impacts from flora maintenance… that has occurred within the [Flood Luck Area]," the inspector concluded in his report.
If the waterworks tin't produce a copy of its easement, the town could be at risk.
